Butterflies Are Free To Fly

Thanks to Elton John for providing me a title for my blog post today.. now I will guarantee you will be humming that song as well. You will either love me or hate me for it!! HA!

I got another chance to hostess at Sassy Cheryl's this week and I set our theme as "Butterflies"...perfect for Springtime weather unless you live on the outskirts of Tornado Alley like I do. There just doesn't seem to be many butterflies that seem to hang around this neck of the woods... they must know something we don't!

So for my project for this week's challenge, I used a stamp from the Cheryl Alger collection at Kraftin' Kimmie's. Cheryl has created so many darling little characters for her fans who happen to love rubber as well as those who are hooked to her digital images... Lucy, Lulu, Avery, Noah.. and there's more.  I'm not sure that this little gal has a name, but I love her nonetheless.

I'm a pretty patriotic soul to begin with, but I must have been in a particularly patriotic mood when I selected the paper and colors for my card. This little gal is just ready for firecrackers and sparklers!

Seem's I'm always needing a thank you card, so what better sentiment than that. She was colored with Prisma pencils.. my choice of coloring when I need to get into a Zen-like trance and block out stressful things like INCOME TAX RETURNS!!!  UGH!

Thanks so much for stopping by... I do hope to see your creativity at Sassy Cheryl's challenge this week, so come join us!

Anything Goes at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

I have the honor of hostessing this week to set the theme at Sassy Cheryl's challenge and I elected to use "Anything Goes"... because I love the freedom to come up with my own colors, sketch, embellishments, etc.  And so what did I put together?  'This very 'clean and simple' card... no special embellishments or tricky sketch.

How simple is that?  And it's just the perfect size to drop a quick note to a friend - not that I ever seem to find the time lately... shame on me!

Hope you will join us in the challenge... you can use any image you would like.. or no image at all on your card or 3-D project, but we do love when you use a Sassy Cheryl image. I'll see you there!

I'm also entering this in these challenges...
Thanks so much for stopping by friends... have a fantastic day.

Sassy Cheryl Goes Pastel

I kind of left Miz Sassy Cheryl in the lurch last night to do our weekly challenge post. But being the real trooper that she is, she got everything up and going and set for this a.m. so all of our friends could play in our "Pastel" challenge this week.

In my little corner of the world, we were without our cable provider for the entire day and into the evening.. and the Univ of Kansas vs. Univ of Kentucky game was on. I felt like it was 1945 or something and had to listen to the radio.. you remember radios, right?  Then to top it all off, with temps over 85 degrees our AC went out.. how fun is that??!! Not very much fun for sleeping.  I can hardly wait to see how much that is going to cost!! Maybe for today I should just stay in a padded room and check my 'horror' scope until everything settles down again.

Okay.. enough of the rant. Here's my card for Sassy Judy's "Pastel" challenge this week. If you were expecting, blue and pink.. surprise!!

Please do stop by our challenge site this week to check out all of the lovely cards the Sassy Gals have made for Judy's challenge,  then play along with us. You don't have to use a Sassy Cheryl image to play, but we sure love you even more when you do.

Easter Parade at Sassy Cheryls

Our challenge this week at Sassy Cheryl's is "Easter Parade".. using bunnies and/or bonnets.  Just perfect for this time of year and a chance to use lots of pretty pastel colors.

I chose to use this adorable pre-colored image from Sassy Cheryl's illustration shop. If you are ever in a pinch for a card, Sassy Cheryl's pre-colored images are a terrific way to pull together a creation very quickly. Try a pre-colored image if you haven't already.. you won't be disappointed.

I printed this happy little bunny out twice and then cut the body, ears and feet to pop them up to create a three-dimensional card for a bit more interest. All I had to do was create the card-base and add a sentiment. Easy - peasy!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of blogland. Have a fantastic day.

I'm also entering this card in these challenges...

Thinkin' Spring

Spring is almost in sight here in the Northern Hemisphere and although it officially begins today, I know there are much prettier days ahead in my neck of the woods. In the meantime, there are all kinds of things popping up through the soil and lots of buds on trees. Such a time of rejuvenation. I feel like I'm coming out of hibernation!  H!

I couldn't resist using "Spring" as the theme this week for our challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. And this little guy, Noah, looks pretty much set for baseball...

Sassy Cheryl has so many adorable little girls in her collection, but I do like the little guys as well.

So create something Spring-like and join us in our challenge this week. We'd love to have you join us.

I'm also entering this card in these challenges...

Slainte!

We're lovin' a bit of the green this week at Sassy Cheryl's challenge. It's my chance to hostess the challenge this week and I chose our green theme. For me, it's another opportunity to make one more card for St. Patrick's Day. I just love this bear and used him last year as well. Isn't his face just adorable?

My entire repertoire of Gaelic comes down to these two expressions... Slainte and Erin Go Bragh. While Erin Go Bragh means Ireland Forever and Slainte simply stated, means "cheers and good health". What a wonderful word for toasting someone special... so I'm toasting you, my blog friends. Have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day!

In addition to Sassy Cheryl's challenge, I'm also entering these challenges today...and in blogland there's green just about everywhere you look at this time of year.

In the meantime, this is my contribution for the challenge.. it's Lulu and you have seen her before in my blog posts. She is a rubber stamp from the Cheryl Alger (aka Sassy Cheryl) collection available at Kraftin' Kimmie's shop. Isn't she the cutest?

Sybil... is that you?

I'm on a 'clean and simple' roll right now... when it comes to particular styles. I think my alter ego "Sybil"  appears from time-to-time and I never know which one of the multiple characters will create a card LOL!

Our theme at Sassy Cheryl's challenge this week is spots and dots... hosted by our talented Sassy Jackie.

I used an image that Sassy Cheryl released last year about this time.. and it was in my stack begging to be colored. I pulled out all stops and used quite a few different colors on this one to create a Spring-like look.. and kept it pretty simple otherwise.

Sassy Cheryl has so many new images in her shop that you should check out. The Sassy gals used a few of them this week and you can see them at our challenge page. 'Hope you will join us this week and that I'll get to see you there.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

This week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is hostessed by my bud, Sassy Cathy. She did such a great job with last week's challenge that we let go for it again!! This week her theme is to make a card or paper project, but you can't use any of that great embossing that we all love.
Being the avid knitter that I am, I do love to see images of knitters.. colored up they make great cards for my knitting friends. Sassy Cheryl created this image at my request because I always need note cards for my knitting friends.. she's great like that!!
One of my knitting friends was kind enough to help me out recently and I made this to go along with a little gift that I got for her. I can show it to you now that I've sent it off to her. She loved it.
I'm also entering this little cutie in these challenges.
One Stitch At A Time - Use a Digi

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

Sassy Cathy gets to hostess this week and her theme for the Sassy Cheryl challenge is "NO DESIGNER PAPER". Sounds easy-peasy, right?  NOT!  Thank goodness for embossing! That helped me give this cute little gal a lot of texture and interest.

Come and play along with us at the Sassy Cheryl challenge. You don't have to use a Sassy Cheryl image, but if you do (we love that!), you will get two chances in the random drawing.

I love to spread the sassiness, so I'm also entering this in these challenges today...

Thanks so much for stopping by my little spot in blogland. I hope that you have a terrific and very crafty, creative day.

Sassy Cheryl Time - Color Combo

For our challenge this week, hostess Sassy Jeni set the theme with a color combo of "Light Blue & Brown"... another one of my favs.  Truth be told, I would rather work on a color combo challenge than a sketch challenge any day.. how 'bout you?  Out of curiosity, what's your favorite type of challenge?

I haven't colored this cheerful little cutie digi from Sassy Cheryl ("I Love You This Much") in a while and she seems to be a favorite amongst my friends. You just can't help but smile when you see her and there's so many sentiments you could conjure up to go with her expression. Since I never seem to have enough birthday cards around when I need them, what better time than now to get ahead a bit and Sassy Jeni's challenge theme was the perfect excuse.

Everything about my card, with the exception of the kraft card base, was pulled from my ever-growing scrap pile. Using a square nesties, I did the 'out of the box' technique around this little sweetie, added a bit of embossing, and all of the papers were antiqued with Tim Holtz distressed inks. I must have been in a bit of a polka dot mood!

Stop by and join us in the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week and see what the design team created for Jeni's challenge. We have a great time and lots of fun people that join us. We're gearing up for a celebration of 100 challenges next week. You won't want to miss it.

Something Bright & Cheery

Something bright and cheery is the theme that my bud Sassy Dawn set for this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's.

My creation has a bit of a Valentine feel, but it would be great for just about any occasion. I need more of those type of cards on hand. 'Never know when an occasion might pop up and I'll need an 'all-occasion' card.

It certainly meets Dawn's criteria of "Bright & Cheery". We've got a lot in store for our sassy friends over the next few weeks as we celebrate 100 challenges.. so please make sure you check in and play along with us.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner in blogland. I hope that you have a terrific day and wonderful week!
