It was a GNO!

Hello everyone. Happy Friday. It was a very busy day yesterday and the evening was filled with lots of laughs, visiting with special friends, a few sips of wine and great munchies… and crafting! I haven’t had a Make ‘n Take for months, so it was a lot of fun to plan activities for a Girl’s Night Out. My friend Sherrie and I teamed up to host our event last night. She’s got a great eye for designing some really adorable things.

So here’s some pics I took of the items we made. That little item in the front left is a witch’s hat covering a mini Reese’s cup.. Yum – I love those little things!

Oct 09 M&T

A cute Halloween card with just a touch of water coloring, glitter, and some embellishments…

Oct 09 M&T6

A card perfect for Fall… some embossing, masking and a bit of distressing…

Oct 09 M&T4

An adorable treat holder that Sherrie designed… how cute is this? It’s perfect to hold candy corn, peanut butter cups or a gift card. It’s made using a Sizzix die cut and Cuttlebug embossing folder. Quick…. and fun to make.

Oct 09 M&T3

And another of Sherrie’s designs… a sleeve cover for a packet of buttery popcorn. Wouldn’t this be perfect to give to co-workers or a favorite neighbor? Nicely designed… don’t you think?

Oct 09 M&T5

So I’m off to clean up my Craft Grotto a bit and get back to catching up on other things I’ve let go too long..i.e. Fall cleaning and household stuff.

Hope you are enjoying a beautiful Fall day…. and you have a terrific weekend! Ciao for now…..

More from the April Make ‘n Take

Here’s a picture of (crazy) Sally (on the left) and Amy, both at work on their cards. I promised Sally that her picture would be posted, but I also promised her that she wouldn’t like it. Sally doesn’t take serious pictures…. can you tell? But I know she will get serious when she and her adorable son, McClain, have their professional photos done.

Anyway, this should make her Monday when she checks my blog tomorrow!!! Great picture of Amy. But you gotta love Sally.. she’s the best! Sally, are those googly eyes you are making?

April Make & Take

My friend Sherrie (also a SU Demonstrator) and I combined forces to hold a weeknight Make & Take in my Craft Grotto. Here’s a picture of one of the items that our ladies made last night.

4-16-09 M&T

For this card, I used SU’s designer paper, Kiwi Kiss, Taken with Teal, and Kraft paper. The flower is from Botanical Blooms and it was colored on watercolor paper, using SU markers, aquapainter, and then run through the Big Shot using the oval and scallop Nestabilities. The Kiwi Kiss paper was cut using the newest SU scallop punch.

This is one of the 3-D items that our ladies made… The inspiration came from the very talented Carolina at “Carolina’s Stamping Pad”. This is a great way to use the SU Basket and Blooms Die cut. This little gift bag is perfect for Mother’s Day giving.

Upcoming Make and Take

My friend Sherrie and I are combining forces for our upcoming Make and Take next Thursday, April 16th. So many ladies have indicated that a weeknight is so much better for them with their busy schedules.

This is Sherrie’s design and one of the cards that we’ll make making.

March Make 'n Take

Hi stampers... I wanted to share pictures of the cards that we made yesterday at my Make and Take. As usual, we had a few good laughs, a bit of vino and snacks, and an enjoyable afternoon of crafting. In addition to the jelly bean holder pictured in a previous post, we made these three cards perfect for Spring, Easter, or any occasion.
The Fifth Avenue card was made using the Stampin' Up Fifth Avenue folder, pearls from the Pretties Kit, Scallop and Oval Punch, and a butterfly from Nestabilities that was cut, embossed, and then lightly colored with Stampin' Up pastels.
The tree card reminds me so much of the flowering trees this time of year.. I believe they are called "Bradford Pear trees". "Thinking of You" was made using SU's "Thoughts and Prayers" tree stamp, brocade Cuttlebug folder, green satin ribbon, and a new thing for me "Flower Soft" in a soft ivory. What fun stuff to work with!! My card was CASEd from this posting on SplitCoastStampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1291841?cat=16101
The yellow and pink card was made using SU's Playful Petals, Pink Pirouette and Barely Banana cardstock, layered on top of Whisper White. The flower was lightly colored with watercolor pencils and blended using a SU blender pen.

Easter and Spring Make and Take

This is the Easter 3-D item that we'll make at my upcoming Make and Take. It's perfect for a little bag of jelly beans or M & M's. In addition, we'll make three cards perfect for Easter, Spring and general occasion (2 of each of the three cards). Hope you can join in for a nice afternoon of very relaxing creativity on March 29th!
