Bling it up!

Hi, friends! I hope all of you are having a terrific day.

Today's challenge day at Mo's. And this week Paola, our challenge hostess, is looking for bling, bling, and more bling.. lots of shiny, glittery bling.

Well, I'm not really a bling person, and I don't have a lot of it in my stockpile, so this is truly a challenge for me.  This little cutie is "Tea Party" from Mo's Digital Pencil and she's about as 'bling' as I can get. Hope you like it.

I used Diamond Stickles on her polka dot dress, and added pearls throughout the layout. She was colored with copics and I used a touch of prismacolor pencils for some additional highlighting. If you haven't tried using both, try it. Just make sure you use copics first before anything else or you will ruin the marker tip.

Thanks for stopping by, friends. I'm hoping that you have a terrific day. Be safe in all you do.

CSAYL - Week 16

If you weren’t sure, CSAYL is the acronym for “Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long” and it’s a weekly challenge I’ve been participating in every Monday since January of this year.. I might have missed a couple initially.

This week the guest designer, Vicki of Summerthyme Studio, is hosting our challenge.. and she’s put out the challenge for a lot of bling, bling, and more zing to our bling with glitter, rhinestones, brads, embossing or even tinsel that resembles Christmas lights. Vicki will be hosting our CSAYL challenge on the second Monday of each month… Congrats Vicki! Please stop by often to check out our weekly challenge and… jump in.. the water is fine!

I’m not too much of a bling person, so I did my best. I have had this wreath in my mind for about a year. And since then, I’ve collected every leaf punch and die cut that I could find with the hopes of creating a wreath for the card I had envisioned. I’ve got more of this in mind…. so stay tuned!

My husband liked this card.. it reminded him of the wreath we place on our front door… and coming from him.. 'that’s a good thing’.

Challenge #16-2

Details: McGill Leaf punch (punch green papers about 423 times – just kidding)… I used Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to adhere these tiny pieces… and just layered until I liked the look over the designer paper I chose. ‘Used red rhinestones on hand (source unknown) and ribbon is from Joann’s. The sentiment is from Noteworthy, circa 1994 and I used SU punches with dimensionals to pop it up.

Dare You To Digi-Stamp Challenge

This week’s challenge at “Dare You To Digi-Stamp” was to include some ‘bling’ in our card, and, of course, the card has to include a digital image ~ that’s the whole reason behind our weekly challenge!

Well, if you follow my blog, you already know that bling is a big push for me – a total stretch from my comfort zone. So I tried and tried. Since I’m not a ‘bling’ person, I did my best to include something that seemed as close to my style as possible, without going over-board. So, there’s Dew Drops on the bottom right, and Diamond Stickles on the Dragon as well as the Prima flower.

This image is from Dustin Pike, and it’s a very fun image to color. I used Prisma and Lyra pencils, and blended with Gamsol spirits. Did it turn out cool, or what? I do love the color combination of lime/kiwi and purple…

Here’s where you can find information about the digital stamp challenge. So, what do you think?

Dare U 2 Digistamp

Hello, and happy Friday! We are now another week closer to retirement (oh, that's soooo scarey!!)
Here's a card that I made for a sketch lay-out challenge I found while surfing tonight. It's a digital image from Sketching Stamper, and Chris, the owner, happens to be one of the members that heads the DT for "Dare you to Digi"! You can also find the link to Sketching Stamper on the left side of my blog. Check out Chris' designs ~ she's so talented!

I colored "Elise", one of Chris' digital stamps, with Prisma and Lyra pencils using Gamsol to blend and used a bit of Copic markers to highlight her hair a bit. I used Neenah white linen cardstock, Stampin' Up's Pink Pirouette (perfect for a Ballerina!), and the most perfect designer paper that I think I purchased at JoAnn's a while back. Even the ballet slippers were cut from designer paper.

From what I can tell, this is the first of their weekly Friday challenges and you can get to their site by clicking on the title of this post. Why not join in on the fun with our friends across the Pond?
Enjoy!
