Today is What??

We're always looking for reasons to create cards..right? As cardmakers we diligently work on special projects for our friends and loved ones for Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Halloween.. all of the major events throughout the year. But there's a lot of holidays we may be overlooking because we get busy. Well say no more!

In case you didn't know, today is "Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends' Day". You probably think I'm kidding, but this is one of those very odd holidays that I stumbled upon. When I read about this and several other upcoming holidays, I laughed myself silly, re-grouped, pulled myself together again, and wiped the mascara away. Wait till you hear about some of them... who makes this stuff up anyway??? What a head-scratcher!!!

After finding this tidbit, I knew I had to pull out this image from Mo's Digital Pencil and get busy with all of the challenges I wanted to tackle today.. it was great inspiration. I couldn't let this 'holiday' go by without some remembrance. Isn't this little darling just perfect for this obscure holiday?

So, here's my card with this 'so special' occasion as my inspiration....

This card was made for Crazy4Challenges and The Pink Elephant who both have birthday-theme challenges this week. At 2RedBananas it's 'think round'. At Just us Girls and my SCS Design DIVAS group we are to have a bit of real or faux stitching on our card...faux stitching is about the best I can do!!

So fab friends, here's what I'm going to be doing so we can have a few laughs together throughout the year. In addition to my regular and challenge posts, I'll be adding cards here and there that pertain to these obscure holidays so we can all stay 'in the know'.

You know that The Wired Angel has a sense of humor... so we'll have a few laughs along the way. Some of these 'holidays' are absolutely hysterical!! This month, we've already missed "Fruitcake Toss Day" (January 3rd) and ... and "Bubble Bath Day" on January 8th (thank God 99.999999% of people bathe on a daily basis. Oh.. and the other 00.00001%, phew and stink-o!!!) Wait 'til you hear about some of these funny days!

Thanks for stopping by.. and 'til next time, be safe in all you do and have a few laughs along the way!

Details: Duck Days image from Mo's Digital Pencil, white cardstock, misc. green cardstock, Copic markers, sateen ribbon from Michael's, sentiment from SU, brad misc, Pentel 0.5mm pen for faux stitching, Cuttlebug embossing folder, pop dots.
