It's that time again.. time for another challenge from the Design D.I.V.A.S. I've been trying to keep up with all of the challenges my group puts together... they are so very busy and such talented ladies! I enjoy these challenges, and our latest is to create a 'winter scene'.
Today I was totally in the mood for some brayering... the weather outside was misty and damp.. and a slightly gray kind of day... just great for staying inside, hanging out in sweats, putting my hair up in a pony tail... and crafting. This card was inspired by the weather.
I love this technique and really enjoy how brayering can create a look so unlike other work that I tend to do. For me, it's quite a deviation from my typical coloring using pencils and Copic markers.
I bought this stamp with the brayering technique in mind. Once you have brayered you look at stamps in a completely different light. It's just perfect for the project I had envisioned.
I used clear embossing powder mixed with SU's Dazzling Diamonds... it wasn't intentional.. I accidentialy mixed it with the clear embossing powder and the results weren't half bad. The moose seems to have a bit of reflection from the moon on his back.
The aqua tones and copper were intentional ... I wanted a Southwestern look - almost verdigris. This came pretty close.. no busy stuff here.. just a very natural look. This clean and simple look is just perfect for my cousin and his family in Montana for Christmas... 'Hope they like it.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my 'stuff'.. I hope that your day is terrific and that you will be safe in all you do. Until next time.. ciao!!

The brayering has a whole different look on the textured paper -- it looks like a painting on canvas! Beautiful card!!
This is so beautiful Peggy. For those of us who are brayer challenged, a tutorial would be heaven sent. hugs, eileen
I really like this, it's different but great. Love your explanation of the mixed embossing powder!
